INDUSTRY OVERVIEW:

According to a report by the world's largest market research store “Research & Markets”, the Global Nonwoven Fabrics market accounted for $44.37 billion in 2017 and is expected to reach $98.78 billion by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 9.3% during the forecast periodIt is also assumed that the durable non-woven market will grow with a higher CAGR rate.

Nonwoven fabric has become a key constituent of the man-made fiber market. In spite of having a large demand in our country, there are only a few non-woven factories in Bangladesh. These factories are only producing PP spun bounded non-woven and cannot fulfill the local demand for non-woven fabric. As a result, to fulfill market demand, a maximum amount of nonwoven is imported from different countries such as India, China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. According to statistics, Bangladesh imported non-woven fabric costing US$ 188.99 Million only in 2012-13. Bangladesh can become a significant player in the nonwoven industry as the market is offering huge opportunities and the country also has a large possibility to grow in this industry. It is high time to grow in this sector to fulfill the local as well as global demand.

Non-woven fabric is often said to be the future of the textile industry as their global demand & versatility are only getting higher & higher. Developing in this sector, Bangladesh can save foreign currency, make the economy of the country stronger, create new employment, and open many more new possibilities & opportunities for the country.
